Boxers for Older Boys

Boxers for older boys have a short leg, so they cover more than briefs do and stay put under school trousers, joggers and sports kit. MINOTI makes them for boys aged 8 to 15, alongside the socks in Underwear & Socks. At this age they get worn every day and washed often, so it helps to have enough for a full week, plus a few spares for PE days and sleepovers.

Choose the size by his height rather than his age. As a guide, an 8-year-old usually takes 134 cm, a 10-year-old 146 cm and a 14-year-old 170 cm. If he is between sizes, go up one. Boxers that are too tight ride up, and a little extra room at the waist does no harm. Fabric and care vary between styles, so check the product page and the care label before the first wash. Wash dark pairs with similar colours so they do not fade.

Your questions answered

MINOTI's boxers for older boys are short-leg everyday underwear for boys aged 8 to 15 in centimetre sizes, and a 12-year-old usually takes 158 cm.

What size boxers should I buy for a 12-year-old?

A 12-year-old usually takes 158 cm. Measure his height without shoes and match it to the size, because children of the same age can be two sizes apart. If he is tall for his age or between sizes, go up to 164 cm.

How many pairs of boxers does a teenager need for the school week?

Around seven to ten pairs covers a school week, with some left over for days when the wash has not been done. A 14-year-old who does sport three or four times a week and changes after it will need a few more.
