Baby Girls' Playsuits
A baby girl playsuit is a one-piece outfit that joins a top and shorts, so nothing rides up or comes untucked when she crawls, rolls or is lifted in and out of the car seat. The sizes run from birth to 24 months. A playsuit works on its own on warm days, and over a vest with tights when it is cooler. One piece also means only one thing to change after a messy lunch.
The age on each label is a guide, and her length matters more. A baby girl playsuit in 0-3 months is usually 62 cm, and 3-6 months is 68 cm. If she is long for her age or between sizes, go up one, as a playsuit needs room through the body for a nappy. Some shops call these rompers. Choose 74 cm for 6 to 9 months and 80 cm for 9 to 12 months. Measure her from head to heel and pick the size nearest her length. If she sits between two sizes, go up.
Can my baby girl wear a playsuit when the weather is cooler?
Yes, with layers. Put a long-sleeved vest underneath, tights on her legs and a cardigan on top for days around 15 to 18°C. When it is above 20°C, the playsuit on its own is usually enough.
