How warm is it?
Polyester padding sits under a nylon shell, and the body and hood are fleece-lined, so it's made for proper winter days. The ribbed hem and cuffs close the gaps where cold air usually gets in.
Which size should I order?
His usual size. Sizes run from 104 (3–4 years) to 172 (14–15 years); the ribbed hem sits at the hip, so if he's between sizes, the larger one still won't look too long.
Where is the lettering on this jacket?
'SINCE 1997' runs vertically down the back of the hood, and tonal lettering sits on the black strips either side of the front zip. There's also a square black badge on the upper sleeve.
How should I wash it?
At 30 °C on a gentle cycle with the zip closed and the jacket inside out, using a mild liquid detergent. Keep the iron and the tumble dryer away from the nylon shell; dry it on a hanger and shake out the padding.
Does he need a thick jumper underneath?
Usually not. The fleece lining works like an extra layer, so a long-sleeved top or a thin sweatshirt is enough on most days; add a jumper when it freezes.
