Kids' Waterproof Trousers
Kids' waterproof trousers go on over everyday clothes and keep them dry and clean on wet days. They are made for splashing through puddles, sitting on damp grass at the park and the walk to school in drizzle. The collection covers ages 0 to 15, so there are pairs for babies in a pushchair, little ones finding their feet in the mud and older children on school trips or camping weekends.
Waterproof trousers are also called rain trousers or overtrousers; they are the same garment. Because they sit over other clothes, choose the size your child wears now, or one size up if they will go over thick jumpers or fleece joggers. A 5-year-old usually takes 116 cm and a 10-year-old 146 cm. Let mud dry and brush it off, then check the care label before washing to keep the waterproofing working.

What size waterproof trousers should I buy for a 7-year-old?
Most 7-year-olds take 128 cm. If your child is tall for their age or will wear the trousers over thick layers, go up to 134 cm for more room.
What should my child wear under waterproof trousers in winter?
In cold weather, put leggings or joggers underneath and a fleece or jumper on top. Below about 5°C, add a thermal layer. On mild wet days in spring, school trousers or shorts underneath are enough.
