Baby T-Shirts & Tops
Baby T-shirts and tops are the everyday layer. Your baby can wear one on its own on warm days, over a vest when the weather turns, or under a cardigan or jumper indoors. The range is for babies from newborn to 24 months, and the prints and plain colours go easily with leggings, joggers and dungarees. Each product page shows the fabric and details for that top.
Tops are sized by height in centimetres, with the age shown alongside. A newborn usually takes 56 cm, a 3-month-old 68 cm and a 12-month-old 86 cm. If your baby is between sizes, go up one, because a top that is slightly long still sits neatly. A vest, which some shops call a bodysuit, goes next to the skin, and a T-shirt goes over it. Follow the care label, and turn printed tops inside out before washing.

What size T-shirt should I buy for a 9-month-old baby?
A 9-month-old usually takes 80 cm, which covers 9 to 12 months. If your baby is long for their age or you want the top to last longer, choose 86 cm, the 12 to 18 month size.
Should a baby wear a vest under a T-shirt?
In cooler weather, yes. A vest under a T-shirt adds a layer next to the skin. On warm days above about 20°C, a T-shirt on its own is usually enough. Feel the back of your baby's neck to check they are not too hot or too cold.
