The rib stretches to fit the head and pulls back in afterwards, so the brim sits above the eyes instead of sliding down. Rolling the brim down covers the ears on a colder morning and turning it up keeps it out of the way. Three neutral shades cover most coat colours, and each hat packs flat into a pocket without losing shape.
