Can the hood come off?
No, the hood is attached, so it can't go missing. On breezy days it gives a bit of extra cover.
How does it fasten?
With poppers down the front and at the cuffs. They're quicker than buttons, which helps when you're dressing a toddler or when they want to do it themselves.
