Boys' Track and Sport Jackets, Ages 2 to 8
A boys' track jacket is an easy extra layer for ages 2 to 8, worn over a T-shirt at nursery, for PE at school or on a cool morning at the park. It is warmer than a T-shirt and lighter than a coat, so he can run around in it and take it off quickly when he warms up. Pair it with joggers for a matching tracksuit, or wear it with jeans at the weekend.
Measure him and pick the size at or just above his height. In the smallest sizes, a toddler boy track jacket in 98 cm fits most 2-year-olds, and a boys' track jacket for age 3 is usually 104 cm. Some shops call these tracksuit tops, and they are the same garment, often sold to match joggers. Check the care label for washing. For under-2s, see Baby Sport Jackets, and from age 9, see Teens.
Your questions answered
The MINOTI boys' track jackets collection contains sporty tracksuit-style tops for boys aged 2 to 8, in centimetre sizes, and a boys' track jacket for age 5 is usually 116 cm.
What size track jacket should I buy for a 4-year-old boy?
A boys' track jacket for age 4 is usually 110 cm. If he is tall for his age or you want room for a hoodie underneath, go up one to 116 cm.
Is a track jacket warm enough for a young boy in winter?
Usually it is not warm enough on its own. A track jacket works best as a middle layer, so below about 10°C put a padded coat over it, and on mild days of 15°C or more it is fine over a T-shirt.
