Older Girls' Raincoats
An older girls' raincoat is the coat she reaches for on wet school mornings, at the bus stop and on weekend walks when a padded coat would be too warm. A 10-year-old usually takes 146 cm. If she is tall for her age or wears a thick jumper under her coat, go up one size to 152 cm. Measure her height in socks for a quick check.
Can a raincoat replace a winter coat for a 13-year-old girl?
Only with layers. A raincoat keeps the rain off but adds little warmth, so on days around 5°C she will want a jumper or fleece underneath. If she layers a lot, go one size up, say 170 cm instead of 164 cm.
