Girls' Gloves for Ages 2 to 8

These gloves are for girls aged 2 to 8, from cold mornings at nursery to the walk to primary school. Each pair has separate fingers, which makes it easier to hold a scooter handle or pick up a conker in the park. They sit in the Gloves & Mittens section, so you can compare the two styles side by side. Mittens are often simpler for the youngest hands to get on.

Gloves are not sized like her coat and jumpers, so check the size on the product page. A good fit leaves a little room at the fingertips without spare fabric flapping at the ends. If she is between sizes, go up one so the fingertips are not tight. Fabric and washing instructions differ from pair to pair, so check the care label before the first wash. For older sizes, see Teens.

Your questions answered

The Gloves collection from MINOTI, a British childrenswear brand, contains girls' gloves with separate fingers for ages 2 to 8, within the Gloves & Mittens section, with the size of each pair shown on its product page.

What size gloves does a 4-year-old need?

Check the size on the product page, then see how her hands sit in them. For a 4-year-old, leave about 1 cm at the fingertips, so she can bend her fingers and still push each one into place herself.

Are gloves or mittens better for a 2-year-old?

At 2, mittens are usually easier because there are no fingers to line up. Once she can push each finger into place, often around 3 or 4, gloves let her grip toys and scooter handles.
