Kids' Gilets & Body Warmers
Kids' gilets and body warmers keep a child's core warm without the bulk of a full coat. A gilet is sleeveless, so arms move freely for climbing, scooting and carrying a school bag. The collection runs from baby sizes to age 15, for boys and girls. Wear one over a jumper on a cold morning, or over a hoodie in spring and autumn when a coat feels too much.
Gilet and body warmer mean the same garment: gilet is the trade word, body warmer the other common name. For sizing, a 4-year-old usually takes 110 cm and a 10-year-old 146 cm. Go one size up if it will sit over a thick jumper. Fill and fabric vary by style, so check the product page and follow the care label when washing.

What size gilet should I buy for a 7-year-old?
A 7-year-old usually takes 128 cm. If your child is tall for their age, or the gilet will go over a chunky jumper, the next size up, 134 cm, gives more room.
Is a gilet warm enough to wear instead of a coat in winter?
On a dry day of around 8 to 12°C, a gilet over a jumper is usually enough for play or a short walk. Below that, or in rain, a full coat is the better choice, and the gilet can go underneath as an extra layer.
