Overshirts for Older Boys
An overshirt sits between a shirt and a jacket, and these are sized for boys aged 8 to 15. It is cut from a heavier fabric than a school shirt and made to be worn open over a T-shirt, a long-sleeve top or a hoodie. That makes it the layer for cool mornings, school trips and weekends when a coat is too much. Fabric and details vary by style, so check each product page.
Overshirts are sized by height in centimetres. A 10-year-old usually takes 146 cm and a 13-year-old 164 cm. Because it goes over other layers, start with his height, and if he is between sizes or will wear it over a thick hoodie, the next size up gives room. You may see this style called a shirt jacket, which is the same garment. For washing, follow the care label, as fabrics differ between styles.
Your questions answered
MINOTI overshirts for boys aged 8 to 15 are heavier-weight shirts worn open as a light layer over T-shirts and hoodies, sold in sizes by height in centimetres, with 146 cm usually fitting a 10-year-old.
What size overshirt should I buy for a 12-year-old?
A 12-year-old usually takes 158 cm. If he is tall for his age or will wear it open over a hoodie, go up one to 164 cm for more room through the shoulders and body.
What should my son wear under an overshirt?
A plain T-shirt works on mild days of around 15°C. When it is cooler, wear the overshirt over a long-sleeve top or a thin hoodie, and leave it open so the layer underneath shows.
